Of course there’s plenty of chill out time to be had in your log-fired hot tub overlooking the lake; watching wildlife busying about, or gazing at the stars …or our personal favourite… Space Station Spotting! But if feel like ‘you’ve seen one swan or kingfisher then you’ve seen them all’ (or you’re not a space geeks like us!) you might want to get out and about to some local fine dining eateries with a handy spa treatment next door. Walks, Spas & Eats Nearby
Inhale all that country air on a walk right from your cabin gateway; there are walking loops of various miles starting with a bridle-path metres away from Kingfisher Lakes; it’s a lovely wide path through the fields and passed a farmhouse which after around 1.5 miles leads you into the village. We have some maps in reception to help you plan your walks if you fancy any longer ones too.
Why not book a relaxing lunch or evening meal at nearby Bert’s (less than a 5 minute drive down the road)? A great spot for easy-going dining at any time of day, although lunch has to be our favourite time as in nice weather you can sit out on the huge lakeside decking area watching the wildlife.
They also have an outdoor Adventure Golf course next door if you want to involve a bit of competition to your break?! Or perhaps a beauty or massage treatment is more your idea of downtime! Beauty Within (also located by the Bert’s venue) is a beautiful salon that you won’t want to leave!
If you’re in need of some Vitamin Sea then head to our favourite spot, Fraisthorpe Beach where you can walk for miles along the vast stretch of sand in either direction; North to Bridlington, or South to Barmston. There is a fantastic cafe called The Cow Shed at Fraisthorpe Beach, with sublime food as well as cosy sofas around a log burner where you can gaze at the sea through the floor to ceiling windows.
Beverley, the nearest town, has some fantastic dining options and is only 15 minutes’ drive away.
You could enjoy a relaxing couple’s massage at Sessions Spa followed by a special meal at The Westwood Restaurant next door? The Michelin-starred Pipe & Glass country pub is only 25 minutes’ drive away in the village of South Dalton.
