Top Things to Do With Kids Glamping East Yorkshire

Top Things to Do With Kids When Glamping in East Yorkshire (…list compiled in the expert opinion of Kingfisher Lakes guests!):

  1. Kayaking – everyone’s favourite way to spend their time here, this is a great adventure-bonding time for you all, and just watch the kids’ confidence to explore the lake soar day by day. Older kids can go out on the kayaks without adults as long as they are being supervised at all times, you’ll be able to see them from your glamping tent as they glide up and down the lake, bliss!
  2. Adventure Golf & Foot Golf in Brandesburton village (a nice long walk…or 3 mins drive away!) situated on Dacre Lakeside Park (where Bert’s pizzeria/gelato is) – a fun few hours can be spent here on the outdoor golf activities areas for a spot of healthy competition amongst family members! A handy cabin for drinks, snacks and gelato is right on hand too.
  3. Williams Den Adventure Play near North Cave – a good one for stopping on the way or way back from us if you approach us from the West (M62) as it’s just off the motorway. The opposite of soft play; this place is awesome, with huge indoor and outdoor play zones and a fantastic eatery with a wood-fired pizza oven too!
  4. Beach Days at Bridlington, Fraisthorpe or Hornsea – you can’t go wrong with making your own fun on any of East Yorkshire’s golden sandy beaches. Bridlington South Beach is a good one to head for if you want to enjoy everything the British seaside has to offer. Use Bridlington Park & Ride (this side of the town so you won’t have to fight through any traffic to find a parking spot) which is a huge grassed car park right above the beach. Enjoy paddling in the sea and building sandcastles there for a while then walk along the promenade into the town centre, or take the very cute Land train (included in your Park & Ride ticket).
  5. Rockpooling at Flamborough – make memories along this wild, rugged coastline, a rockpooling paradise! Recreate your own childhood pastimes, get right back to nature and show them how it’s done! There’s numerous coves, caves and bays (‘landings’) around Flamborough to drive between, park up and explore. The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s Living Seas Centre is a great place to start to inspire your budding oceanographer’s!
  6. Mr Moos Ice Cream Parlour near Hornsea – a family-run, award-winning ice-cream destination cafe serving delicious sundaes, home made lunches, morning coffee or afternoon tea. There’s also a nice track down to another beach below.
  7. Danes Dyke – ancient woodland trails leading down to the beach, this spot was a firm favourite of our childhood and nothing’s changed here since then! Another make your own fun, no-screens kind of place; just set off along any of the woodland trails either side of the car park and make your way up and down steps and bridges until you reach the sea! Save some energy for the climb back up the hill though! You’re also quite close to Sewerby Hall & Gardens here if you wanted to tag this onto your day out; it’s got a lovely Zoo here where you can get up close to monkeys, penguins, micropigs and more!
  8. The Deep in Hull is a fantastic aquarium right on the Humber estuary. Embark on a journey through the world’s oceans; travelling from oceans past and into the future; before heading into the huge tank area and underwater viewing tunnel with sawfish, sharks and stingrays swimming right above your head! (Nice to know: Bert’s have a more casual pizza & gelato establishment right opposite The Deep for feeding time at the zoo for your crew!)

Why not try a few (or all!) of these things out during your Glamping stay here at Kingfisher Lakes and tell us if you agree with our list of Top Things to Do With Kids Glamping in East Yorkshire!
