On your doorstep
Nearby Things To Do – Kingfisher Lakes is ideally situated in a hidden corner of the countryside yet close to a busy village with lots going on.
You can leave the car and head off on foot, there are various walks and cycle routes you can take from the site depending on how far you want to go, we provide some maps in reception and can advise you if you have any questions.
Explore the Lakes
Glide out onto the lake and feel the freedom of kayaking — a gentle, joyful adventure you can join anytime (just ask when you arrive).
Prefer dry land? Stroll the lakeside trail as it curves past the water, slips through a whispering willow grove, and opens into peaceful fields.
Pack a picnic, settle in, and watch the sun melt into the horizon — pure end‑of‑day bliss.
Wildlife Watching
At Kingfisher Lakes, nature often comes to you. Pause by your window or step onto your balcony, and you might catch birds and wildlife drifting through their day — quiet, magical moments up close.
Keep watch for the kingfisher: a vivid flash of blue and orange that darts low across the water. They move fast, so stand still, take your time, and enjoy the thrill of spotting these tiny, jewel‑bright visitors in the wild.
Countryside Walks
Ease into the slower pace of countryside life with a gentle half‑hour walk to Brandesburton.
Take the bridlepath along the track, past a farmhouse, and under a canopy of trees — a simple, peaceful stroll.
At the end, the trail leads quietly into the village. Cross the road, turn left, and wander into the centre for a drink or an easy explore.
Nearby Food
The village has two convenience stores, a deli (with amazing sausage rolls!), fish & chip and pizza takeaways, two pubs serving food and a great place for food and adventure golf activities at Bert’s lakeside restaurant. They make their own gelato there too so it’s a nice mission to tempt you along the way if you’re walking there!
