A Guest’s Poetic Take on Their Stay at Kingfisher Lakes

A recent guest staying with her family of 5 was moved to write to us with these these lovely words following her stay and we couldn’t be more thankful, proud and teary!🥹, check out their experience of their glamping getaway, we couldn’t have put it any better ourselves!…

“You arrive at this place and realise pretty quickly that this is not just camping, you’re met as you open the door of your car like you’re back again with old mates, like you’ve been here five times or more before, smiles from everyone as the kids spot the lake, and Jo says, “let’s grab you all life jackets, I’ve set up your kayaks” like your kids are meant to be here, like their excited chatter and untethered enthusiasm is not some mistake to be apologised for and then you reach your lodge. Like a miniature home from home all cushions and comfort.

The toilet block, cleaner than our actual home (!), full of small details like eco-friendly soap that smells like a spa, duvets that are so thick my daughter doesn’t want to get out of bed (which is fine), the radio left on low in the communal outdoor kitchen (with it’s post-box red cafetiere) that just sets the tone, for a place, that is so deeply cared about, where we are meant to be outdoors, people are meant to notice more and not be on their phone, hear nothing but nature when falling asleep, there’s a wood at the end where Jo tells our kids to explore because she knows that kids like nothing more than to roam.

Here, every tent or lodge is by the lake, there are no ‘bad spots,’ this is a place where they want everyone to have a good time, quiet after ten and before eight, fire smoke swirls and sits on the water at dusk, gentle chatter, strings of lights across the lawn with benches where you can grab pretty much anything you’ve forgotten and sit for a while if there’s a rain shower, it didn’t happen for us this time but I can tell that this is a place where new friendships are born and have I made it sound romantic, yeah I probably have, but that’s because this lake, these lodges, these people, these beaches, these cliffs, this place, these moments remind you to be in love with the world.

This place makes you want to stay longer.

Thank you so much Helen for these heartfelt words, we love that you all totally connected with the vibe of our place immediately and throughout your stay – this is exactly the feelings we want for all our guests! 🧡🌿💙
