On your doorstep
Nearby Things To Do – Kingfisher Lakes is ideally situated in a hidden corner of the countryside yet close to a busy village with lots going on.
You can leave the car and head off on foot, there are various walks and cycle routes you can take from the site depending on how far you want to go, we provide some maps in reception and can advise you if you have any questions.

Explore the Lakes
Take to the water and enjoy the freedom of kayaking across the lakes — a gentle adventure perfect for trying together (just ask us when you arrive if you haven’t pre-booked).
If you’d rather stay on dry land, wander along the lakeside trail. The path curves around the water’s edge, leading you through a magical willow grove and into a peaceful field-side walk beyond. From here, you’ll see your tent or lodge from a whole new perspective, while kayakers drift by on the water. Pack a little picnic, settle in, and watch the sun melt into the horizon over the fields — a blissful way to end the day.

Wildlife Watching
At Kingfisher Lakes, nature’s wonders often come to you. Simply pause by your window or step onto your balcony, and you may catch glimpses of birds and animals going about their day — moments that feel truly magical from your close-up vantage point.
Keep your eyes peeled for the kingfisher, a dazzling flash of blue and orange that seems almost too vibrant to be real. They move fast and skim low across the water, so take your time, stand quietly, and enjoy the thrill of spotting these tiny jewels in their natural habitat.

Countryside Walks
Ease into the slower pace of countryside life with a gentle stroll to the nearby village of Brandesburton, just half an hour from your door.
Turn left out of our gates and, after a short wander along the grass verge, a bridleway opens up on your right. The wide, flat path leads you between open fields, past a characterful farmhouse and beneath a canopy of trees — a tranquil setting perfect for an unhurried walk together.
At the end of the trail, the path brings you quietly into the village. Cross the road and turn left to find the village centre, where you can pause for a drink or simply enjoy exploring at your own pace.

Nearby Food
The village has two convenience stores, a deli (with amazing sausage rolls!), two pubs serving food and a great place for food and adventure golf activities at Bert’s lakeside restaurant. They make their own gelato there too so it’s a nice mission to tempt the little ones along the way if you’re walking there!
