Lakeside Walks

Stroll along the lakeside woodland walk – take a wander just a few steps from your tent and you’ll find yourself on a lovely little trail following the curve of the lake and into the magical willow wooded area, you’ll be able to see your tent from a whole different angle and watch people kayaking by, maybe take a picnic and set yourselves up to watch the sun go down over the fields.

Wildlife Watching

Wildlife Watching will just happen without you trying whenever you stop and look out of your window or over the balcony, you’ll notice bird and animal behaviours that you might not have seen before from your new close up spot. Kingfishers are stunning little birds with vibrant blue and orange coloured feathers that almost don’t look real, but you’ll have to stand still and watch closely as they fly so fast and low across the water so they can be really hard to spot!

Countryside Walks

Enjoy a countryside walk along a lovely bridleway towards the nearest village, Brandesburton (which takes around 30 minutes). Take a left outside the glamping site gate and walk 100m along the grass verge to the start of the bridleway on your right. It’s a nice flat, wide track following the edges of the fields, passed a farmhouse and through a tree-lined section popping you out at the other end of the path which is the start of the village. Cross over the road and walk right, you’ll find the playpark on your right and the village centre towards your left.

Nearby Food

The village has two convenience stores, a deli (with amazing sausage rolls!), two pubs serving food and a great place for food and adventure golf activities at Bert’s lakeside restaurant. They make their own gelato there too so it’s a nice mission to tempt the little ones along the way if you’re walking there!
